CHOOSING YOUR BRIDAL LOOK

Makeup doesn’t have to be complicated to look great. Here is a very simple and beautiful makeup to give Best Simple Bridal look boost

Let’s break it down into 3 main areas

  1. Preparation
  2. Application
  3. Finishing Touches.

PREPARATION

  1. Clean your skin first and prepare the ‘canvas’ for the beauty you are about to create.
  2. Moisturise next, especially if your skin is dry. Apply enough to leave a little extra layer to help the concealer or foundation glide and blend easily. If your skin is oily, apply a mattifying primer gel to your skin to help prevent excess oils from absorbing your makeup or shining through too quickly.
  3. Rub on a little lip balm at this early stage so it has time to work its magic before you add colour.
  4. Curl your lashes to open up your eye shape.

APPLICATION

A) Complexion – start your makeup application by evening out your skin tone

  1. For a more natural look, use concealer only, one that closely matches your skin colour and cover any red areas such as corners of the nose, blemishes, redness on cheeks, nose or chin area, anything else you may want to cover such as pigmentation or spots. Conceal darkness under your eyes with a lighter shade of concealer to lift the appearance of the shadow.Essentially you should have 2 concealers in your makeup bag. One for covering skin blemishes etc and the other a lighter shade especially for hiding dark shadows under the eyes.
  2. Use a patting motion to apply your product instead of rubbing it in. If you are not planning to wear foundation, make sure to dab on matching -skin concealer on your eyelids to prepare for eye makeup. If you have dark shadows on your eyelids, then use the lighter concealer to lift the colour and even out skin tone here as well.
  3. Dab foundation on the main areas of your face first and blend with fingers, sponge or brush, whichever is fastest and easiest for you, gently blending seamlessly, resulting in ‘second skin’. Also apply to eyelids if haven’t done so already.
  4. Dust powder all over, incl eyelids. This will help any powder eyeshadow to blend well and not grab to the moist surface.

B) Eyes – highlight your eyes using a one-wash of colour all over. This basic eye makeup is easy and fast. Suits everyone.

  1. For small eyes, use a light vanilla or champagne colour, either matte or soft shimmer, depending on your taste. For medium and larger eye shapes, use a darker shade of natural eyeshadow such as sand, mushroom, taupe, soft brown or golden hues.
  2. With an eyeshadow brush, sweep your chosen colour all over the eyelid, up to crease line, blending a little above. Extend towards the outer edge of your eye and blend out past the corner.
  3. Continue sweeping eyeshadow under your eye, following the lower lash line all the way to the inner corner using a finer tip brush or a slant edged brush. As long as it’s a small one you can’t go wrong.
  4. Eyeliner is optional, this style looks good with or without!
  5. Add lashings of mascara, roots to tips and really work the wand to lengthen your lashes and make them stand out. Notice what huge difference mascara makes!

FINISHING TOUCHES

  1. Let’s now add colour to the cheeks and lips to complete the look and brighten the face.
  2. Add a light dusting of blush to your cheekbones, highlighting them and giving yourself a healthy glow. Using your brush or fingers, work the product up, blending back towards middle of the ear. Take care not to go too close to the eye area.
  3. Chose a lipstick or gloss that is in the same family of colour as your blush. Try rose blush with pinkish lips. As long as you enhance your lips with colour or shine, you will make an impact!
  4. Lastly, polish off the look by grooming the eyebrows, brush and gel them into place with clear mascara.

There you have it!  Have fun with this basic bridal look and I know you will master it in no time.

THE KEY TO LOOKING YOUR BEST

THE KEY TO LOOKING YOUR BEST  WITH ZMA WEDDING MAKEUP

The key to looking your best on your wedding day is to create a radiant, healthy, happy glow. Your hair and makeup style will help set you in the mood.

Think perfect skin, bright eyes, shiny gorgeous hair. This season’s looks are flawless, romantic and pretty. It’s best to enhance natural beauty and style through subtle colours and simplicity. Warm makeup colours are a big hit with popular shades of champagne, chocolate browns and neutrals, avoiding heavy eye shadows across the lids. I always like to add a little dusting of shimmer to keep eye makeup from looking flat or dated.

One thing for sure is that flawless skin never goes out of fashion. Try not to over-apply foundation by allowing the texture of the skin to show through. I recommend adding just enough to warm up skin colour and hide flaws. For those brides with oily skin, try not to endure a continual fight with powder, you will just turn your face into a caked mess! Instead, I highly suggest taking advantage of blotting papers and prime with oil-free products.

“Coral colour cheeks are a favourite among my brides,
but I like to add a touch of rosiness to create an
extra burst of healthy colour.”

Bridal hairstyling doesn’t always follow trends. It is a great idea to harmonize your hairdo with the style and design of your wedding dress. If the dress has a high collar or halter neckline, then an up style is very flattering to lengthen the neck-line a little more. If the dress has a low front or plunging backline, it is ever so elegant to either show off your back and have hair up or have some partially down, low styled.

The key to looking your best is to ensure you have the right makeup artist for your personal style of makeup and never short change yourself to get that ultimate look. Please take a look at some of my fashion work as well to give you an idea of  what true natural makeup looks like and how classic and stunning it looks.

5 STEPS TO A FLAWLESS FACE

  1. Prepare your skin. Start by cleansing your face and neck. Remove any makeup and gently exfoliate, then moisturise well and wait about 10mins for it to settle.  Remember, the key to a glowing complexion is to maintain a good skincare routine.
  2. Apply a foundation primer over your moisturiser. This refreshing gel will help to smooth out the texture of your skin, creating a flawless finish, as well as preventing excess oils from absorbing your makeup. Hence, everything looks fresher, for longer.
  3. Using a damp cosmetic sponge, apply foundation on your face. This will ensure an even coverage allowing you to apply in layers, starting slow and building up as needed.  Foundation will help to cover discoloured areas, such as nose and chin and even out your skin tone.
  4. After applying your foundation, use a concealer cream under your eyes and on any blemishes or shadows.  Choose a concealer colour that is one shade lighter than your foundation colour. Before applying, warm it up on the back of your hand and with a fine-tipped brush paint over the desired areas.
  5. Lastly, set your makeup base with a translucent powder. Gently roll a velour powder puff over your face, taking care not to wipe off your foundation. For a Flawless Face velvety look, use the flat side of your powder brush and dust lightly over your makeup instead.Contact Us.
